Heat Pumps, Troubleshooting E03 Error Code
The E03 code means there is insufficient or no water flowing through the heat pump. To fix this issue, try these steps:
Check the water pump:
- If the heat pump has its own independent water pump, ensure the water pump is working and is primed. If not, follow the water pump priming instructions.
- If the heat pump is inline with your filtration system, ensure water flows through filtration system. Check filter pressure, visible water flow, and that the filter pump is primed.
How to prime a pool water pump
Adjust the bypass valve:
The bypass valve adjusts how much water goes through the heat pump, and how much goes back to the pool without entering the heat pump. Adjust flow through the bypass valve in order to direct more flow to heat pump:
- Close the valve to Position A
- Turn on the circulation water pump
- Slowly open the valve towards Position B until the display error code of “E03” disappears.
- Once the message clears, the display will show the current water temperature. Starting sequence will begin after that.
Possible blockage
Ask you pool service technician to inspect the water pipes for any possible blockage.
